Sct Hans

Midsommer in Denmark means celebration of saint Hans. This is a sort of conjunction of old viking rituals and medieval chritstian witch-burning. None the less now a days it more or less means you stand around a fire in the middle of summer and have a good time. Often the weather spoils some of the fun. This year was no exception, saturday had lots of wind and occasional showers. This provide wind for the red bull soulwave contest, more on that later. Sunday meant lots of rain and nice waves... I went SUP'ing in Hvide Sande and had a real blast.. Nice glassy conditions and for 1½ hour or so we were only 3 people in the water.. In between session I grabbed a few photos. Here is the first part, at this point it was still raining...
