The Storm

Yesterday a very powerfull strom passed over southern Denmark. The wind  turned out to be more powerfull than first anticipated.
Actually yesterday the windspeed reached and record high of 54m/s = 105 knots!!
I went to check out a few spots on the south coast before it all peaked, it wasn't looking all that great so I decided to se what the day would bring. But when it all went bananas nobody was able to go outside, all of Denmark was locked down..
Rumour is that surfers used the storm to produce a new danish speed record of 45.08 knots over 500 meter.
Checking out a few spots before all hell broke loose

Luckily not mine

Lots of action !

Hard to keep track of things at the moment, every day seems to deliver some sort of action. The waves are almost constantly pumping and the wind is howling , let start you up with a few surf and Sup photos from friday..
I was in the water well before sunrise and was soon joined by other surfers
Lars was there

Nice clean waves

Simon had some nice waves

Hmmm

Lars Petersen has been enjoying some great conditions windsurfing in Middels

Best thing is that there seems to be no stopping as a big storm is fast approaching. Monday looks cranking!

Easterly winds

This month we have had a lot of easterly winds wich is often acoompanied by flatspells.
But not this time , we had a magic thursday  with epic waves along the entire westcoast,
All the way from cold hawaii and all the way down to Holland the waves have been pumping
Nordsurf-syndikat was there

The guys from  Bretspiel scored as well:

Even I had my fun in good old Hvide sande
But now the wind has turned to an easterly coner -action none. less
Sebastian Kornum enjoyed a windsurfsession in Cold Hawaii

And further south the redbull-big-days-guys days scored as well.

Hopefully more to come from these action packed days

Blue man !

I am always looking for new wetsuit. You cant have to many wetsuits , I hate having t go in to a wet and cold suit.
Having more suits means less wear and tear and you will more likely go for that secondcsession , when you know that you have a nice and dry backup suit.
My newest suit is a mystic 5 mm suit with a really snug fit, the model name is  Mystic Majestic 5/4mm GBS. I have come to prefer frontzipper wetsuits  allthough it can be a little harder getting in and out of them
Hope to test i out already tomorrow, fingers crossed

Blue is the new black ;-)

Sylt 2014

So this year didn't offer wave conditions but lost of action none the less.
I have been coming to the Sylt World cup for almost 20 years and this year was no exception.  It is the biggest event of the year and the fuzz around the event is outstanding.
It is the perfect event to bring , the wife, the family and anybody who isn't really into windsurfing.
Saturday I went with the whole family and we enjoyed all the things going on despite no actual windsurf action.
I watched some of the live streaming during the week and I really thougth that the racing was exciting

The picture pretty much says it.

Lots of people and lots to see

Lots of things to see and hear..

Robby Naish still draws a crowd

Got a new book :-)

The family is all smiles
