Locate just a few miles fromthe danish coast line and facing the north sea.
I have visited this event numerous times as my parents live only ½ an hour from the event site.
Sylt is an island for the rich and famous germans but also hosts the most traditional german surfszene.
The spot isn't really great, west wind are always onshore to some degree. There is always a huge shorebreak taking its toll on equipment..But there is always a huge crowd of spectators and an incredible atmosphere
This years event sees, racing ,freestyle and waves so there's a guarantee for action.
The event side is packed with action on land as well, lots to do even if there s no action on the water.
If there one surfevent where you can bring the family without felling bad about this is it..
I am definitely going this year again...
