3 session Monday

I had monday off and really wanted to make the most of it surf-vise. I had been working pretty hard in thelast two weeks and was  a little desperat to get in the water. The weather forecast keept  changing by the hour.. Sunday evening the weather forecast looked like winsurfing in the morning and Sup in the afternoon...
By Monday that changed all around And I was heading for a morning SUP session in Hvide Sande, followed by a mid day windsurf session and evening SUP session...
The weather was cold (acording to the forecast) sunny ( not according  to the forecast) and lots of people in the water.. Wind wa up and down, mostly up

Custom mades

I have a real fetish for custom made boards, windsurf and SUP boards.
When I started windsurfing in the late 80'. the windsurfmarket was bursting with all sorts of custom mades. Nowadays you rarely see any custom mades.
The big brands have slowly taken ovee, the 2 local shaper I know have switched to kiteboarding and only do windsurf repair..
Some of my favourite boards of the past have been custom mades and I always find it interesting seeing a new different board.  ...
I have had a special Angulo Custom made  board made by Ed angulo for his son Josh back in the 90'  when he was the bad boy star riding North Sails and Mistral Boards.. The angulo (twinzer)is the only board I really regret having sold
I've had many customs , including: Paradise customs sylt, Glen Darcy, Lorch, Angulo, Gordner.. just to name some..
The surf industri still has lots of custom brands and i hope that the SUP-surf scene can develope some of the same.
Last year I visited southern California for 6 weeks and the sup scene here is very inovative and ou se lots of custom mades here.. Hopefully we  can see a lot of that cming to the european shores in the coming years.

My ride

Generally i am not that much in to cars. Cars a very expenssive in Denmark due to the 180 % tax the goverment puts on them. I prefer having new surf equipment to having a new car..
 My current ride meets many of my demands; its cheap, goes a long way for little money, room enough for the whole family..
It isn't excactly pretty and my felow doctor colleagues at work laugh when they see me roling in to the parking lot. The prefer Mercedes's and Audi's, but i will rather spend my time surfing than working to pay of some stupid car..

SUP champion - Ha ha

I just won the Sup championship at our local surf club.
The surf club is a fun place with lots of dedicated people, trying to get more people into surfing..
They held a small Sup competionth other day.  We all started in heats and surfed in a knock out format round a small course.
We all used the same material: Bic inflatable 11 foot SUP and a standard alu vario padlle. It was my first time surfing an inflatable and I wasn't impressed, a very wobbly feeling and you didn't have the feeling of gliding because much of the power was lost due to the board flexing. A lot of the same can be said about the vario paddle.
But equally badly equipped, we all had fun battling out one heat after another..
The weather was ok ( meaning no rain) and we enjoyed dinner, picnic style in between heats with our families.
